Gabriel Martinelli Player Profile

Gabriel Martinelli is a Brazilian professional footballer, who was born in Guarulhos, Brazil, on the 18th of December 2001. Martinelli started his youth career at one of the biggest clubs in Brazil, Corinthians, before moving to Ituano’s youth programme. During his youth career, Martinelli had trials at massive clubs, such as Manchester United and Barcelona. Unfortunately, the trials didn’t turn into professional contracts. 

However, Martinelli did sign a professional contract with Ituano and made his first senior team appearance in 2018. Martinelli became the youngest player to play for Ituano in the last century when he made his debut at 16 years and nine months old. Martinelli’s senior career at Ituano only lasted a year, as Arsenal, one of the biggest clubs in Europe, came knocking in the summer of 2019. Martinelli put pen to paper with Arsenal and signed a long-term deal with the club for an estimated fee of around 6 million pounds.
